With our history of being invited by the royalties of Jaipur, Bhuramal Rajmal Surana found its roots and origin at Lal Katra, Johri Bazaar. The famous Johri Bazaar was reserved for invited and exclusive jewellers only. The red walls of this magnificent arena hold the stories and sights of many who wanted to be a part of the legacy of Bhuramal Rajmal Surana. As we talk about the old world charm of Jaipur, situated right in the heart of it is Lal Katla.

With our history of being invited by the royalties of Jaipur, Bhuramal Rajmal Surana found its roots and origin at Lal Katra, Johri Bazaar. The famous Johri Bazaar was reserved for invited and exclusive jewellers only. The red walls of this magnificent arena hold stories and sights of many who wanted to be a part of the legacy of Bhuramal Rajmal Surana. As we talk about the old world charm of Jaipur, situated right in the heart of it is Lal Katra.

This is where everything started for us, and it still happens to be the global hub for our centuries of craftsmanship. The sun rays that reflect off Jaipur’s forts and palaces fall on our haveli with the same light, glory, and royalty. Generations after generations have derived their competence and values from this Haveli.

The historic art of Meenakari, which finds its roots in India in the 16th century, has a deep connection to Jaipur and Bhuramal Rajmal Surana Johuree. With time, through the generations of the “kaarigars” (artisans) and the Surana family, it has been a conscious effort to make sure that this Mughal traditional art form is kept in its purest form. Every single piece that carries Meenakari passes through many expert hands before it is actually nears completion. The procedure is done by masters and requires highly skilled craftsmen. It is heart-touching for the house that while Encouraging and supporting artisans, they have been rewarded with recognitions like the national awards, national merits and state merits.

SHRUTI MANDAL

Padmashree Late Prakash Chandji Surana joined hands with
Late Kaushalji Bhargava in the year 1964, to set up Shruti Mandal.
This cultural society was created with the intention of promoting
Indian classical music, dance, art and artists. What started as a
plain enthusiastic approach, gained a cultural prominence under the
able Surana Family. Shruti Mandal emerged as one of the honorary
organizations hosting great musical concerts.

To commemorate the death anniversary of Seth Rajmalji Surana,
every year Shruti Mandal organises an annual musical festival
“Surana Samriti Samaroh” from January 4th to 6th. Music Maestros
like Pt. Ravi Shankar, Pt. Bhimsen Joshi, Pt. Hari Prasad Chaurasia,
Pt. Shiv Kumar Sharma, Ustad Amzad Ali Khan, M. S. Subbalakshmi,
Pt. Jasraj, Ustad Zakir Hussain and many others have already given
scintillating performances. Apart from Shruti Mandal, Chandra Surana
patronises numerous cultural events pan India. These include music
conferences, classical dance programs and art exhibitions as well.
