The Surana family joined hands with their founder secretary Kaushal Bhargava in the year 1964, to set up Shruti Mandal. This cultural society was created with the intention of promoting classical music and dance in Jaipur. What started as a plain enthusiastic approach, gained a cultural prominence as under Padmashree Late Prakash Chand Surana and his able son Chandra Surana, Shruti Mandal emerged as one of the honorary organizations hosting great musical concerts.
To commemorate the death anniversary of Rajmalji Surana, every year Shruti Mandal organises an annual musical festival “Surana Samriti Samaroh” from January 4th to 6th. Music Maestros like Pt. Ravi Shankar, Pt. Bhimsen Joshi, Pt. Hari Prasad Chaurasia, Pt. Shiv Kumar Sharma, Ustad Amzad Ali Khan, M. S. Subbalakshmi, Pt. Jasraj, Ustad Zakir Hussain and many others have already given scintillating performances. Apart from Shruti Mandal Suranas patronise numerous cultural events pan India. These include music conferences, classical dance programs and art exhibitions as well.
